install dvd no emulation

Install from DVD problem (No Emulation)

Hi there
I've downloaded the 32bit ISO beta2 and burnt it to DVD with Nero 6 with no problems. When I pop it into a spare machine and try and boot from the DVD the system looks at the DVD drive and tries to boot. I then get the message 'No Emulation' and then it continues to boot the pervious O/S on the hard drive.
Does anyone know what is going wrong?
Thanks for any help.
Paul

Hi,
Did you copy the image to disk, or create a disk from an image file? The latter is the proper method. If you just copied the .iso file to disk then you simply saved a file and did not create a Vista boot DVD.

HI there
Thanks for the response. I did create a disk from the ISO file. If I put the disk in another machine I can start the setup program from the disk. The problem is that it just wont boot so I can't start the installation on my spare machine as it currently has Win2k3 server on it from which the setup program won't run.
Cheers

You may have to go into the BIOS and set the DVD as the first boot device. Then you'll probably get a screen early in the boot process that asks if you want to boot from the DVD or CD.

In addition to Frank, make sure bios-based antivirus detection is disabled. It may help to make the DVD drive the only boot device as well.
